Apple has announced dates for its Worldwide Developers Conference 2015 which will be held at Moscone West in San Francisco. The Conference will kick off on June 8 and will run until June 12.
Apple fans can apply for tickets to the event as ticket applications are currently live through to Friday 18:00 GMT. Ticket winners will be announced through a lottery on April 20. Tickets cost $1,599. The iPad maker didn’t reveal how many tickets it will award, but it said that it will be offering scholarships to 350 deserving students.
For those who won’t be able to attend the event, Apple has promised to have more sessions than ever streamed live to millions across the globe.
According to Cupertino, this year’s conference will concentrate on the future of iOS (specifically iOS 9), Mac OS X, and the Apple Watch. Rumor has it that Apple will also launch its internet TV service at WWDC 2015, alongside the relaunched Beats Music service.
The theme of WWDC 2015 event is ‘The Epicenter of Change.’ The event will boasts more than 100 technical sessions. Apple said 1,000 of its engineers will be on hand to talk to developers about their apps and that there will be more than 100 hands-on labs to guide and show developers all the latest features of iOS and OS X and demonstrate best practices for writing apps.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said “The App Store ignited an app ecosystem that is simply amazing, forever changing the lives of customers and creating millions of jobs worldwide. We’ve got incredible new technologies for iOS and OS X to share with developers at WWDC and around the world, and can’t wait to see the next generation of apps they create.”
Furthermore, Apple has also announced that it won’t allow attendees to use selfie sticks or any other kind of photo monopod within the bounds of either Moscone West or Yerba Buena Gardens.
“You are not permitted to make audio or audiovisual recordings of WWDC or take professional photographic or video equipment, or wearable recording devices into Moscone West or Yerba Buena Gardens,” Apple’s information page read.
“In addition, you may not use selfie sticks or similar monopods within Moscone West or Yerba Buena Gardens.”
