Recent report suggest that Apple’s “iWatch” will have much “simpler” technical capabilities than previously thought off.
Previous rumors suggested that iWatch will be more focused on health tracking and will come with a pedometer and heart rate tracking system. The rumors went on to speculate that glucose sensing and hydration tracking will also be added by Apple. It was also speculated that the meeting between Apple executives and US Food and Drug Administration had iWatch health features as one of the agenda points.
However latest reports indicate that all these features will not be part of the iWatch and that it won’t be requiring any approval from the FDA.
Apple iWatch was expected late last year, but that didn’t happen and if additional regulatory approval were required, its launch would have been delayed this year as well.
Previous reports also shed light on the “Healthbook” app that Apple has been reportedly building for iOS 8. This health app would focus on tracking exercise, sleep, stress, medication reminders, and even data related to pregnancy.
Additionally, it has also been rumored that Apple’s team strength working on the iWatch has grown to include more than 200 people.
