Building on the previous rumours, is more hints pointing to Apple bringing its wearable tech iWatch to the September 9 event, from the number of invitations sent to fashion bloggers and editors probably to give the fashion industry a peek on its device.
Unlike usual, Apple has chosen the Flint Center in California for the event instead of the Yerba Buena Center, suggesting it has invited a larger audience for the event. Among the invitees listed, are Marie Claire and Fashionista, referred to as first-time invitees making more room to presume that Apple wants its iWatch to not only be a luxury tech but also a fashion statement.
Notably, Apple has hired some of the big names in the fashion industry last year including Angela Ahrendts of Burberry, Paul Deneve, CEO of Yves Saint Laurent of France who was offered a position in one of the special projects of the company. Recently, the company also hired Patrick Pruniaux of Tag Heuer who was the sales head of the company.
It is widely rumoured that Apple is trying to woo the fashion industry with its iWatch which substantiates the number of invites sent to the fashion industry experts. The company also hosted a special event exclusively for fashion executives in August featuring lifestyle apps.
Apart from fashion executives, there are also more number of technology executives invited this time to demonstrate the value of its new generation technology to the world, including John Sircausa and Ben Thompson of Stratechery.
Earlier this year, Apple’s Jony Ive, Head of Design, said that ‘Switzerland is in trouble’, which could have indicated, that the company’s iWatch will lock horns with the currently dominating Swiss watches, according to some sources.
