Apple has managed to register growth in its iOS userbase latest data from comScore reveal. The fruity company has managed to increase its market share in the US by over 1 percent points where Android has witnessed a decline of less than 1 percent share during the quarter ending August 2013.
Android is still leading the smartphone charts with 51.6 percent marketshare, but it did witness a decline of 0.8 percent during the three months ending August 2013 from what it held in May this year. The decline has reflected positively for Apple as it managed to achieve 40.7 percent market share witnessing a 1.5 percent jump.
Other platforms including BlackBerry, Windows Phone, and Symbian are no way near Android and iOS with just 4 percent, 3.2 percent, and 0.3 percent share respectively. Microsoft did register a measly gain of 0.2 percent whereas BlackBerry’s share continued to showcase a declining trend with another 0.8 percent drop.
Apple continues to dominate the smartphone vendor’s list with 40.7 percent share as of 2013. The jump of 1.5 percent points seems to be a direct result of its partnership with T-Mobile. Samsung also managed to register an increase in its market share from 23 percent to 24.3 percent. HTC and Motorola garnered negative point change where LG’s share remained static.
