Apple managed to clock in a whopping $10 billion in sales for App Store in 2013 with $1 billion in December alone, the company has announced.
Apple revealed some of the biggest successes for the year including Candy Crush Saga, Puzzles & Dragons and Minecraft, while revealing that Ellen DeGeneres’ Heads Up, ProtoGeo’s Moves, Simon Filip’s Afterlight and Kevin Ng’s Impossible Road saw surprising success notes Wall Street Journal.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services said, “We’d like to thank our customers for making 2013 the best year ever for the App Store.”
“The lineup of apps for the holiday season was astonishing and we look forward to seeing what developers create in 2014”, he added.
Apple also revealed names of some of the developers to watch out for in 2014 including US’s Duolingo, Sweden’s Simogo and UK’s Frogmind.
