Amazon has rolled out its Prime Instant Video service for Android tablet users enabling Prime subscribers in the US, UK and Germany to stream some of their favorite movie and TV shows from Amazon’s extensive content library using their Android slates.
Prime Instant Video is already available on smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, the Fire phone, Fire tablets, iPhone, iPad, and Android mobile phones.
The Android tablet app features Amazon’s X-Ray service, which displays supplemental information about TV shows and movies from IMDB on screen during playback.
According to Amazon, the new app after launching will redirect users to Amazon website where users can browse for their desired content on the site within mobile web browser. On selecting a video, the app’s own player will appear. Users can then choose whether they want to run the video in mobile browser or in the app.
The app offers users a wide collection of exclusive videos including Outlander, Black Sails, Transparent, Vikings, and Mozart in the Jungle. There are some children excusive shows also like Tumble Leaf, Gortimer Gibbon’s life on Normal Street, Creative Galaxy, and many more. Need for Speed, Pitch Perfect, Divergent and 12 Years a Slave are some of the movies offered on the app.
