Amazon has rolled out a new advertising platform dubbed “Advertise Your App with Amazon” for mobile app developers to promote their apps on Android devices and Amazon tablets.
The new service will let developers promote their apps on Android smartphones and tablets as well as Amazon tablets, paying Amazon each time a user clicks an advertisement displayed through the system. The program is aimed at developers who are looking to acquire loyal users for their application.
Campaigns for Amazon’s new service will start at $100. It will take just 90 seconds to set up a new campaign.
The platform will also allow developers to target users based on their interests or they can let Amazon choose the users for them. While setting up the campaign, there will be specific check boxes to select types of users that developers want to target.
Also, ‘Enable Google Play Support’ will offer customers, who don’t have the Amazon Appstore installed, the option to download the app from the Google Play store instead.
“As the cost to acquire mobile users continues to rise, developers are starting to evaluate the quality of users they acquire via paid campaigns. Developers need to reach the right mobile users: those who will engage with an app and become loyal over the long term,” said Corey Badcock, Amazon’s head of worldwide developer evangelism.
“This advertising platform is exclusively available to Amazon mobile app developers. It’s simple, fast and effective. Promote your app to millions of users on Fire tablet wake-screens and mobile placements on the Amazon Mobile Ad Network.”
The latest move marks Amazon’s to grab a share of the app advertising market currently dominated by tech giants like Google and Facebook. The program is now available to all in the U.S. provided the ads meet certain guidelines. They should be approved for all audiences in terms of their content and the apps must be available in the English language.
