Just in time when reports related to Nike withdrawing from FuelBand are surfacing, Adidas has launched its Fit Smart work out companion, to hit shelves sometime this August with a price tag of $199.
Adidas Fit Smart is a simple version of a conventional tracker to be worn only during workouts, to track fitness including heart rate, calories burnt during the work out, pace and distance travelled.
The device sporting an LED display also features a second LED array on the left to show the intensity of the work out. It glows in blue, green, yellow and red showing varying levels of workout intensity.
Adidas Fit Smart will come with a soft silicone strap, similar to the one on Nike FuelBand SE, to make it comfortable for wearing continuously for several hours during the workout. It will be available in black and white colours.
The Fit Smart wearable communicates with the Adidas miCoach ecosystem where users can find free training plans and set weekly goals for workout. Users will be able to make use of the miCoach platform where professional coaches’ recommendations are considered for the workout advice.
Adidas said that the main objective behind creating Fit Smart is to encourage users to stay fit and active. Users can alter the training plan recommendations they find on miCoach to fit their time availability and capability and also create a customized training plan to keep track of their workout routine.
