Activision is reportedly blocking all of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare videos that showcase glitches, bugs, and exploit in the game.
Video network Machinima is warning other YouTube video makers that Activision is issuing copyright strikes on videos that highlighted possible ways to cheat in Advanced Warfare.
“Activision is being particularly vigilant about their Call of Duty videos lately; issuing strikes on videos showing glitches. If you post videos highlighting these glitches, your channel may be liable to receive a copyright strike so please be careful,” Machinima noted.
According to the video network, under YouTube’s copyright strike system, when a channel receives a certain number of strikes it is possible that they may be blocked as a YouTube partner.
Activision claims that it is only targeting those glitch videos that would help people cheat or exploit parts of the game.
“We’re excited that so many fans are having fun playing the game and posting videos of their gameplay. We love watching the videos ourselves. Occasionally, some folks post videos that promote cheating and unfair exploits. As always, we keep an eye out for these videos – our level of video claims hasn’t changed,” Activision said in a statement.
“We are appreciative of the community’s support in helping to ensure that everyone has the best playing experience possible.”
According to a statement released by Activision last week, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which was released earlier this month, has become the biggest entertainment product release of 2014, although the publisher did not reveal initial sales figures for the gaming title.
