The new Office 365 Personal subscription plan that Microsoft promised last month, has finally been rolled out on Tuesday.
Users can subscribe to the new Office 365 Personal plan online for $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year at Microsoft stores and also through retail partners.
The subscription plan designed specifically for individual users will let users run Microsoft’s cloud-based document creation and editing suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook on one PC or Mac and one tablet.
Microsoft’s Jevon Fark in a blog post on Tuesday wrote, “By offering Office 365 Personal, in addition to Office 365 Home, we are better positioned to deliver the right Office to a broader range of households — whether it’s an individual or a family of five.”
“Whichever Office 365 is right for you, you’ll enjoy the freedom to get work done at home, school, or on the go — on any device.”
Office 365 is Microsoft’s subscription-based online productivity suite that was launched in 2011. The software giant promised Office 365 Personal while it unveiled Office for iPad.
The existing Office 365 Home Premium subscription plan which costs $99.99 for a year or $9.99 per month is still available for users who want to access full Office 365 features on five of their devices.
However, Microsoft will be dropping “Premium” from its name to make things simpler. It will now just be called Office 365 Home. In the UK, Office 365 Home is £7.99 a month or £79.99 a year.
