LG has announced a new Smart Bulb range with a bunch of interactive modes that can be controlled through an Android or iOS app.
Priced at 35,000 won, or roughly $32 each, the Smart Bulb is currently only available in South Korea. The Smart Bulb works with Android 4.3 or higher and iOS 6.0 and higher and connects via Bluetooth.
Featuring “LG Smart Lighting”, the Smart Bulb comes with quite a few preset modes including security mode, and party mode. The security mode makes it appear that you are home even when you are away while the party mode on Android devices sets the brightness of the Smart Bulb based on the music emanating from the smartphone. The bulb would even blink to the beats under party mode.
The Smart Bulb also has a mode under which it will flash when you receive a phone call on your smartphone or tablet. The brightness of the bulb can be controlled such that it will slowly brighten as you wake up from a nap.
LG claims that on an average five hours of daily usage, the Smart Bulb will last for a decade.
The South Korean consumer electronics giant hasn’t revealed anything about international availability of the Smart Bulb yet.
