The infamous Diablo III Auction House is now offline as Blizzard is preparing for the game’s first expansion pack – Reaper of Souls.
“All active auctions will expire as normal following the shutdown of the gold and real-money auction houses on Tuesday, March 18”, notes Blizzard in an Auction House FAQ.
New auctions can’t be made on the auction house and the remaining auctions have automatically been finished – either going to the highest bidder or returned to the seller.
“Once the shutdown is complete, items will either be delivered to the current highest bidder or returned to the seller, appearing in each player’s Completed tab. Unclaimed gold will also appear in the Completed tab. Players will be able to claim gold and items and from this tab until June 24, 2014.”
The highly controversial auction house was a kind of necessity wherein players were somehow forced to buy and sell their items to get the best out of their characters and prep them for harsher challenges.
Patch 2.0.1 for Diablo III kind of prepares the game for the upcoming expansion – Reaper of Souls – with reworked difficulty settings and modes, completely redone Paragon levels, and drops in loot tailored to a player’s class.
Unlike previously when a player would find a rare item that didn’t fit his / her character’s class and had to flog it off at the auction house, the patch ensures that whenever a player does find a rare item it actually fits his / her class perfectly.
Reaper of Souls brings in Crusader class to Diablo 3 – a class similar to Diablo 2?s paladin, both in style and skills. Reaper of Souls expansion is slated for release next week and those wanting to get a little action may buy the game at a staggering 45 percent discount currently being offered on the game.
