Adding to an earlier report which suggested Apple planning to launch a less expensive 8GB variant of iPhone 5C, here comes another report which claims that Cupertino is keen on bringing back its 16GB iPad 4 on Tuesday.
According to 9to5Mac, shipments of the fourth-generation iPad with Retina display have already arrived at Apple retail locations, but with notices that they’re to be opened not before Tuesday.
The iPad 4 was launched in 2012 with a whole bunch of features including a dual-core A6X chip, a rear-mounted 5-megapixel camera capable of capturing 1080p HD video, and a Lightning connector. But the company discontinued the fourth-generation iPad last October with the launch of the iPad Air.
Ming-Chi Kuo, a reliable KGI Securities analyst, had predicted the iPad maker’s shift from the iPad 2 to the iPad 4 last month, suggesting that the company would cut down production of the iPad 2 during the first quarter of 2014 in order to begin mass production of the more powerful iPad 4.
As per reports, the iPad 4 will be made available in 16GB Wi-Fi and LTE versions in black and white colour options. While the LTE 16GB model will cost somewhere around $559, it might be possible that the entry-level iPad 4 will come with a price tag of $449.
The iPad 2 priced at $399, is being currently offered for $100 less than the $499 iPad Air.
Although Apple is yet to officially announce the iPad 4’s entry and iPhone 5C cheaper 8GB variant, it is expected that the announcement might come today.
