South Park: The Stick of Truth’s debut in the UK saw the RPG relegate Thief to second spot thereby grabbing the top spot in UK all format charts.
The first RPG to claim a top spot in UK charts since Ni no Kuni back in early 2013 and Obsidian’s first UK No.1 since Fallout: New Vegas in 2010, South Park: The Stick of Truth registered its 53 percent sales on Xbox 360, 41 percent on PlayStation 3 and 6 percent on PC.
Apart from South Park, there hasn’t been a lot of excitement as each of the top 10 titles registered decline in sales. However, Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare’s sales dropped by just 1 percent and the title managed to gain one position finishing at third.
Call of Duty: Ghosts dropped from the top 5 for the first time finishing sixth while Battlefield 4 was placed eight. Despite dwindling sales, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has still managed to garner the last position in top 10.
The only other new release apart from South Park: The Stick of Truth was Bandai Namco’s Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, which only managed to debut at a lowly twenty first position.
