Smartwatch maker Pebble has rolled out its appstore for Android devices that made its debut on iOS earlier last month. The Pebble Android app featuring the appstore is now available for download on Google Play store.
The release packs a completely revamped user interface, pebble watchapp directory, watchapp locker, and a list of prior notifications. The company also noted that this release supports a single Pebble watch and said it will add support for multiple Pebble smartwatches in a future release.
“We’re excited to announce that the Pebble Android app featuring the Pebble appstore is now available for download from the Google Play store,” stated Pebble in its blog post. “It’s taken a bit longer than expected, but we wanted our Android users to enjoy the same seamless and delightful experience we recently provided to Pebblers on iOS.”
The official launch of appstore for iOS, had a few highlight partner apps that came along for the ride including Yelp, Foursquare, Mercedes and GoPro. Similarly, the official Android launch, brings new partners, including eBay, Evernote and Time Warner Cable.
With eBay, Pebble users can access eBay Feeds and view product images, price and other information directly from their watchface and add them to a ‘WatchList’ for later bidding.
“eBay for Pebble smartwatch is our latest announcement at the forefront of merging commerce and technology” said Steve Yankovich, Vice President, Innovation and New Ventures at eBay Inc.
Evernote, meanwhile, is a slimmed-down version of its mobile note-taking counterparts with quick access to checklists, reminders and notebooks with two-way interactivity.
TWC’s app allows Intelligent Home customers to adjust their home’s thermostats, lights and energy use settings, from their wrist.
Pebble also noted that the team will be in Austin, TX for SXSW Interactive, 7 – 11 March, and added the list the events.
