Western Digital has launched My Cloud EX2, the newest addition to its line of personal cloud storage devices. The My Cloud EX2 is available at the WD store online in capacities of 4TB version selling for £278, 6TB for £344 and 8TB for £442.
My Cloud EX2 ships with RAID 1 configuration and features WD Red hard drives, powered by NASware 2.0 technology for improving drive reliability and protecting customer data.

My Cloud EX2 is powered by a 1.2GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. The processor speed sits pretty squarely between the 650MHz CPU in the single-bay My Cloud and the 2GHz CPU in the My Cloud EX4. The new two-bay NAS targeted at prosumers, supports two hard drives with up to 8TB capacity, along with a USB 3.0 port to hook up a further external hard disk for extra space.
My Cloud EX2 packs the standard array of features for client data backup support for Apple Macs (via Time Machine) and Windows PCs (via the WD SmartWare Pro application).
EX2 comes with support for drive management options including RAID 0, RAID Online Migration, RAID Disk and Array Roaming, Flex-RAID (creates different sized RAID configurations). The WD My Cloud app for iOS and Android allows streaming files with cloud storage services including Dropbox and Google Drive.
