Yahoo has bought visual identity platform Vizify, the latter has confirmed through an update on its site.
Vizify, the company founded in 2011, allowed users to create their personal websites based on their social profiles. The site allowed users to turn their social networking data into videos, infographics as well as other forms of visual presentations.
The visual identity company revealed that they have been engaged in talks with folks over at Yahoo since last summer and as their talks progressed, they found a partner in Yahoo that shared their passion “for user experience, design, and visualizing information.”
“Ultimately, we just couldn’t say no to the opportunity to bring our vision to the hundreds of millions of people who use Yahoo every day”, announced the Vizify team through an update on company’s website.
Vizify revealed that it won’t be allowing any new signups or purchasing of paid plans. Users with paid plans will be provided full refunds, premium customers who registered a domain through Vizify will be allowed to assume ownership of that domain for free, and all users will be provided with an opt-in option to take a snapshot of their current data that will be live through to September 2014.
“We have found in Vizify a company that shares our passion for visualization technology and the user experience,” Yahoo said in a statement.
The financial terms of the deal are not known yet.
