Nokia’s first Android smartphone Nokia X is reportedly in mass production at the Finnish company’s Komárom factory in Hungary.
It was earlier rumoured that Nokia will be unveiling Nokia X at the Mobile World Congress alongside a range of other Lumia devices, and if the latest report about the mass production is indeed true then it won’t be too farfetched to assume that the Android-powered smartphone may debut at MWC 2014.
Tech2.hu is claiming through insider sources that Nokia X has been in production at the plant for quite a few weeks now and according to the report, as there were no issues with the initial batches, the company has commenced mass production of the device.
The Hungarian technology site corroborates previous reports that the UI has been revamped completely and it will be hard to make out that the operating platform is indeed Android. Nokia X was also spotted on a Vietnamese retailer’s website just last week hinting at the possible price tag of $110.
Nokai fueled rumours about Nokia X after it teased an image with four arrows pointing at each other to form the letter ‘X’ alongside a countdown timer to the MWC 2014 event.
Some of the rumoured specifications of the smartphone include 1GHz dual core chipset with 512MB RAM, 4-inch WVGA display, 4GB internal storage, 5-megapixel rear camera, 1,500mAh, dual-SIM capability and Android 4.4 KitKat.
