As Samsung is gearing up for the February 24 launch of its upcoming flagship smartphone, possibly the Galaxy S5, at its UNPACKED 2014 event Barcelona, new rumors are piling up with the latest one signalling towards two different variants of the flagship device.
Two Galaxy S5 variants, SM-G900H and SM-G900R4, made an appearance in the AnTuTu benchmark database with very different specifications and no common features.
An analyst predicted a few days ago that the smartphone maker will be launching two variants – a standard variant and a prime variant of Galaxy S5, same like Apple did recently with iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C.
According to the benchmark data, the premium variant (SM-G900R4) of the Galaxy S5 will be powered by Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974AC) SoC with a clock speed of 2.5GHz, 32GB of internal memory, 3GB RAM, Adreno 330 GPU, QHD (2560×1400) resolution display, 16-megapixel main camera sensor, 2.1-megapixel front facing camera and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
The standard variant (SM-G900H) of the Galaxy S5 on the other hand will feature an Octa-core Samsung Exynos 5422 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, ARM Mali-T628 GPU, Full HD (1,920 × 1,080) resolution display, 16-megapixel main camera sensor, 2.1-megapixel front facing camera running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
