Call of Duty: Ghosts players will have access to the first downloadable content pack, “Onslaught,” for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC on February 27, 2014. Onslaught as a standalone will be available for $14.99, or for free if you have the $49.99 “Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Season Pass”.
Onslaught features the first installment in the four-part Extinction’s episodic narrative – “Episode 1: Nightfall,” the deadly new “Maverick” dual-purpose Assault Rifle/Sniper Rifle and the four classically designed Call of Duty multiplayer maps, including –
Halloween-inspired Fog: Homage to classic horror films complete with the signature Halloween theme music, set alongside the banks of a murky lake that lets gamers don the mask of Michael Myers, one of the cinema’s most iconic horror characters.
Bayview: Set on a California-based boardwalk, offers gamers fast-paced run-and-gun gameplay amid a seaside town. Players can climb onto the map’s moving trolley to engage the enemies, call in devastating artillery strikes from the Naval Destroyer anchored offshore.
Containment: Drops gamers into a raging battle in a war-torn Mexican village, with leaking radioactive material from a hi-jacked truck.
Ignition: A completely re-imagined version of ‘Scrapyard’ multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with gamers placed in a deserted space launch facility.
Onslaught, in addition to their multiplayer arsenal, arms gamers with Maverick, outfitted with a digital screen display and a lightweight wood stock that can be used as Assault Rifle as well as Sniper Rifle.
“Episode 1: Nightfall,” the initial foray into the single connected Extinction’s episodic narrative, takes the gamers to a remote research facility in the Alaskan wilds, with new characters, alien species and an exclusive Venom-X weapon.
