Sony Mobile has compiled a long list of Xperia devices including the former flagship device – Xperia S and Xperia ion that will no longer be receiving official software updates.
Sony has already updated the homepage of each device with the Android version overview listing the ‘Launch Version’, ‘Released Version’ and the ‘Latest & Final version’ of software update available. This confirms that Sony has rolled out the latest & final software update with the final set of features and/or bug fixes for the 12 Xperia devices that the company had to offer.
The smartphones in question include
- Xperia Arc S – Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
- Xperia S – Android 4.1(Jelly Bean)
- Xperia SL – Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
- Xperia Ion – Android 4.1(Jelly Bean)
- Xperia Acro S – Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
- Xperia Go – Android 4.1(Jelly Bean)
- Xperia P – Android 4.1(Jelly Bean)
- Xperia U – Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
- Xperia J – Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
- Xperia Miro – Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
- Xperia Tipo – Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

These smartphones are mostly the models that are 18 months to two years old – pretty much the typical lifespan of high-end Android handsets, while most low-end or mid-range devices are often just neglected for any kind of updates after the launch.
The final software update for each of the above mentioned devices is available for download on the Sony Mobile Support Page.
