Sony has announced a UK launch of its PS Vita Slim on 7 February with pre-orders for the device starting today. The device will be launched at £180, which is £50 less than the recommended retail price of the existing bulky PS Vita model.
Along with the console making its way is a 10-game Indie Mega Pack, which will include Thomas Was Alone, Velocity Ultra, Coconut Dodge Revitalised, Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD, Total Recoil, Alien Breed, Coconut Dodge Revitalised, Men ’s Room Mayhem, Limbo, Superfrog HD, and Hotline Miami.
The PS Vita Slim was launched in Japan last October in six different colors including white, grey, yellow, pink, brown, and black. The new version is 15 per cent lighter, 20 per cent slimmer, while the display of the new Vita model has been swapped for an IPS LCD panel instead of an OLED one.
The new version boasts of a longer battery life giving users a total of four to six hours and comes with 1TB internal storage thereby eliminating the need an additional Memory Card.
The PS Vita Slim to be released in UK will be a Wi-Fi-only version with features same as the original Vita including a quad-core ARM Cortex A9 Core processor, SGX543MP4+ GPU, 512MB of RAM, 128MB of VRAM, and a screen resolution of 960 x 540.
