Samsung Galaxy S5 may not be launched at a pre-MWC 2014 event after all. Yeah! You read it right. No Galaxy S5 for now! The press invite for the February 23rd event from Samsung doesn’t mention anything about Galaxy S5, but there is more to add to the Tizen story that you may have come across in the past several months.
If you are not aware of the entire story, then here’s the gist – Tizen, Samsung’s smartphone platform, was planned originally for a mid-2013 release, and the first Tizen device was expected to hit the market by the end of January. That didn’t happen and earlier this month NTT Docomo revealed that it was putting Tizen on the rear seat for now.
Samsung, however, isn’t going to do the same and intends to unveil a Tizen device on Feb 23rd Event. Say, even a bunch of Tizen devices possibly as the press invite states
During this invite only event, you will get an exclusive sneak preview of the newest Tizen devices as well as an opportunity to learn about the major milestones that the Tizen project has hit since last year’s event.
So the event, which is solely for the Tizen platform and the new devices with backers such as KT Corporation, SK Telecom and LG U+, except NTT Docomo (most likely not to be present), will give us a sneak peek at Tizen gadgetry.
