Huawei has refreshed its Ascend P6 by giving it speed boost with an upgraded CPU clocked at 1.6GHz and released it with a new name – Ascend P6S.
Incrementally upgraded and maintaining the ultra-slim design, the Ascend P6S is powered by a quad-core processor, 4.7-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front snapper, Android 4.2 Jelly bean and Huawei’s Emotion UI 2.0. The P6 S is a little thicker though – 0.3mm to be precise – than its predecessor.
Ascend P6S doesn’t have 4G LTE compatibility and packs the same 2,000mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s Emotion UI 2.0 layered on top.
Huawei hasn’t revealed the make of the processor and chances are that it could have swapped out its own-branded CPU with someone else’s.
Currently only available in China, there is no word on international availability.
