Sony announced its PlayStation Now service during a keynote at CES 2014 and soon after a new signup page has popped up on PlayStation.com that lets users register for news and updates on PlayStation Now; however, we believe that Sony may use the registration as the base for inviting users for the new service’s closed beta.
The Gaikai-powered service will allow gamers to stream games from the cloud to all versions of the gaming console from PlayStation 2 right through to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita over the cloud. Sony has said that the service won’t be limited to PlayStation consoles and non-console users will be able to stream and play the games onto their smartphones, tablets and Smart TVs.
Sony is planning to release a closed beta later this month with the full rollout slated for summer 2014.
“We are excited about the future of game streaming and invite you to keep up with the latest news and updates on the evolution of PlayStation Now in the future. Register below to be the first to receive exclusive information on PlayStation Now”, reads a new signup page on PlayStation.com
We are neither claiming that the signup page is for PlayStation Now beta invite nor do we guarantee that users who register will get a closed beta invite. We are just stating that this could be a possibility.
