Lock Screen and Widget System
In iOS 16, the iPhone lock screen is completely redesigned, and a new widget system is incorporated for Apple’s Watch users to ensure fewer notifications for convenience. In addition to this, users can also customize their lock screen, which makes them feel differently. The lock screen consists of a photo and a widget. The new iOS 16 allows all notifications to appear from the bottom of the screen. Adding to this, Focus Mode prevents users from being halted during work at home or office. Hence, this gives a work-life separation experience to the users. For example, a specific lock screen configuration is set, so users have an exclusive lock screen during work, at home or any other activity.
Quick Note
Another new feature, “Quick Note,” was incorporated by iOS 16, which was previously used on iPods. The Quick Note allows iPhone users to create a new note anywhere in the operating system using just Apple Pencil. This makes iPhone users create more effortless and quicker notes on their devices.
iCloud Photo Library
Another excellent feature of iOS 16, available to users of iPhone, is the “iCloud Photo Library”. Users who want to share family photos can create a separate photo library, allowing up to five users to share pictures. Furthermore, reading and writing access is granted to users invited to the shared photo library.
Privacy Enhancement
Regarding security and privacy, there is no match for the iPhone. “Safety Check” is a new feature embodied by the latest iOS 16 in the Setting Section, authorizing users to revoke their shared access. For instance, if the user shares the location with someone and later he considers it harmful and dangerous, now it can be cancelled, and the user’s sharing permission can be reversed/revoked.
CarPlay
CarPlay, a feature of the new iOS 16, permits users access to connect a device to their vehicles. Now users can control their devices from their vehicle’s multi-media system. They can make voice calls and music with just a simple touch. This keeps the users safe while driving and avoids distraction.
HomeKit
It is a feature which connects iPhone devices with Apple Home Accessories. Apple Home App allows users’ devices to connect with other Apple Home Appliances and can be controlled and regulated from the device. Lost accessories connected to iPhone devices can also be found/rediscovered.
Conclusion
Since iOS 7, iOS 16 has brought one of the most noteworthy updates to the iPhone. There’s a lot to appreciate about this operating system, with improvements to Focus mode, duration options, and changes to Messages. Other enhancements include improved HomeKit, CarPlay, Privacy Enhancement and many more.
