Valve already has signed up 12 hardware partners for its Steam Machine and we could see hardware from all those partners at CES 2014.
According to Engadget Alienware, Falcon Northwest, iBuyPower, CyberPowerPC, Origin PC, Gigabyte, Materiel.net, Webhallen, Alternate, Next, Zotac, and Scan Computers are the hardware partners who will be making Steam boxes.
The list is highly diverse comprises of some famous and other not-so-famous names. There are those like Falcon who are known for their premium desktop PCs, while there are those like iBuyPower and CyberPowerPC who has well below in the quality ladder. This mix of companies will ensure that customers are in for some top of the range Steam Machines at a premium as well as systems with a low outlay.
CyberPowerPC already has two variants of Steam Machine – Steam Machine A and I priced at $499 and $699 respectively. Steam Machine A is powered by AMD A6-6400K CPU clocked at 3.9GHz, AMD Radeon R9 2GB graphics card, 500GB hard drive, and 8GB RAM. Steam Machine I on the other hand is powered by Intel Core i3 clocked at 3.50 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB graphics Card, 500GB storage and 8GB RAM.
