Apple iPhone 5S Gold was dubbed the most popular smartphone in the UK during Christmas beating Samsung Galaxy S4 for the third month in a row.
The data based on live searches, pre-orders and sales, which is used by uSwitch.com Mobile Tracker, indicate that Apple and Samsung were almost neck and neck during the Christmas shopping season; however, iPhone 5S managed to stay ahead of Galaxy S4 16GB.
The Surprise wasn’t iPhone 5S retaining the top spot, but the Galaxy S3 which climbed up five positions to finish at third. It turns out that the lowest pricing of £15 and upwards may have been a factor behind Galaxy S3’s jump.
Some of the other smartphones on the list were iPhone 4S 8GB at fourth, iPhone 5C 16GB at fifth, Galaxy Note 3 at sixth, HTC One at seventh, Apple iPhone 5 16GB at eighth, while Sony Xperia Z1 and Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini came in at ninth and tenth position.
