It seems that Motorola Droid MAXX users got a nasty surprise instead of a Christmas present as the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is reportedly bricking the smartphone.
Just a day after the update appeared on December 19, users took to Motorola forums complaining of a bricked Motorola Droid MAXX. Users started complaining that after applying the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, their MAXX was stuck at the Motorola screen and were not even able to perform a factory reset. The forum post runs through for 18 pages and it seems that the issue has affected quite a handful of users.
Motorola hasn’t confirmed how widespread the issue was, but is hopefully working to resolve it as it has seemingly pulled the update to keep the issue from catching more fire (we claim that the update has been pulled by reading through Motorola forums and not through any official statement from Motorola).
