The Lumia series of smartphones have been getting better – both in terms of their looks and price point – appealing to both first time buyers as well as seasoned smartphone users.
Lumia 640 is one of the smartphones that got launched after Microsoft took over Nokia, and we are tempted to say that this smartphone is definitely one of the best from Redmond if we take into consideration all factors.
Though not top of the line from Microsoft, the Lumia 640 is a great handset. Featuring quad core 1.2 snapdragon 400 processor, a 5-inch Gorilla Glass 3 720p screen, 8-megapixel rear camera, 8GB onboard storage expandable using a microSD card, the Lumia 640 competes with the entry-to-mid level Android smartphones.
What’s more the phone is upgradeable to Windows 10 Mobile when it releases by the end of the year.
One department where Windows Phones are lacking is the apps collection. In the initial days of the new Windows mobile OS, there were literally just hundreds of worthwhile apps, but over the last couple of years things have changed for the better with more and more developers now porting their Android and iOS apps to Windows Mobile. We expect things to change for the better once Windows 10 for Phones is released.
The Microsoft Lumia 640 is available from O2 for £95.99.
