Samsung has let lose another pawn in its Galaxy army – Galaxy Core Advance, an update to Galaxy Core which was launched in May earlier this year – with some rather lowly and ageing specs.
Featuring a 4.7-inch display, but with the same 480 x 800 resolution as its predecessor, the Galaxy Core Advance is surely going to present its users with lot more pixelated display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card.
Some of the other specifications of the Galaxy Core Advance are a rear 5-megapixel camera alongside a single LED flash, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC. The phone doesn’t support 4G connectivity. Samsung has promised that it will be blessing the Galaxy Core Advance with its latest TouchWiz interface which will come with several apps including S Voice, S Translator and Group Play.
Samsung is targeting older audience with this smartphone as is evident from the following statement: “Galaxy Core Advance also provides convenient usability functions and enhanced accessibility features for disabled and visually impaired users.”
“Key usability and accessibility features include Optical Scan that automatically recognizes text from an image and reads it aloud to the user, Light Sensing technology that uses the device’s camera to sense light direction and brightness, and Instant Voice Recorder that offers simplified access to make quick voice notes”, added Samsung.
Pricing and availability dates are yet to be disclosed.
