Apple iPhone 5S and its predecessor iPhone 5 have managed to outsell Samsung Galaxy S4 for the second month in a row, a new market research report has revealed.
Market research firm Counterpoint has revealed in its latest Market Pulse report that iPhone 5S has retained top position in the global smartphones sales chart outselling the likes of Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S III among others despite the shortage in its supply. Apple iPhone 5 came in at second, Galaxy S4 at third position, iPhone 5C at fourth and Galaxy Note III at fifth.
Apple has managed to sell huge number of iPhones across the globe, but the most noticeable sales figures have been in China where it managed to garner a market share of over 12 percent in October as compared to just 3 percent a month back. If the rumoured deal between China Mobile and Apple materializes, the fruity company will be able to sell hundreds of thousands of iPhones in China alone, possibly million, over the course of next few months.
“Also, with China Mobile deal on the horizon, Apple iPhone 5s at all three carriers will for sure ignite a ‘price war’ boosting the overall iPhone 5s sales in China. This might allow Apple to even reach the No. 1 smartphone player in December or January in China”, the report noted.
but the galaxy line as a whole outsold Apple
That’s much less impressive.
That’s like when people say Android has more market share. There are thousands of Android devices and about 17 iOS devices (8 iPhones, 7 iPads, 2 iPods). You cannot disagree that it’s pretty amazing that 3 of the top 5 phones are Apple – just as I can’t disagree that is also impressive that 5 of the top 10 are Samsung (other companies should almost just give up..)
