BlackBerry has announced that BBM will come preinstalled on Android smartphones from multiple Android OEMs starting next month.
The struggling smartphone company has revealed that vendors from Africa, India, Indonesia, Latin America and the Middle East regions have agreed to pre-load their smartphones with BBM before they are shipped to end users.
“Beginning next month, Android smartphones from Be, Brightstar, Celkon, EVERCOSS, IMO, Micromax, Mito, Snexian, Spice, TECNO, TiPhone and Zen will include BBM preinstalled”, announced BlackBerry in a press release.
BlackBerry would definitely benefit a lot if it manages to sign-up leading Android vendors including Samsung, HTC and LG; however, the latest development could be considered a good enough start considering that local vendors in the listed regions do have a good enough grasp over the regional markets as compared to the big brand Android vendors.
“The BBM experience will continue to evolve for Android and iPhone® users in the coming months, with updates that will include support for BBM Channels, a new service that will connect BBM users to communities of shared interests in a very engaging and intimate manner, as well as support for BBM Voice calling and BBM Video calling”, added BlackBerry.
