A UK based technology company, Intelligent Environments [IE], has recently released a banking app for Pebble smartwatch owners which will allow them to keep track of their finances at a glance.
The software firm confirms that it is in talks with several banks about its Interact Smartwatch App, which allows users to view their live bank balance and recent transactions.
The app developer says that that Interact Smartwatch App is “inspired by” Homelink, UK’s first online bank service which was first launched in November 1983 by Bank of Scotland for the Nottingham Building Society customers, which allowed customers to view statements, bank transfers and bill payments online. The app can be installed on any Pebble device.
“We develop our software by first finding out what customers really want in a digital bank. Our research shows that people like to know their account balance in real time. Plus customers are increasingly curious about how wearable devices, such as smartwatches, can be used to manage everyday tasks such as banking,” said IE CTO, Clayton Locke.
“This Interact smartwatch app brings consumers closer to their money, making it more convenient to keep track of finances. All it takes is a glance of the wrist to check your balance while out and about. The Interact smartwatch app marks our first step towards developing digital banking systems for other wearable technologies, such as Google Glass.”
