Samsung has admitted that the recently released Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones are experiencing performance issues due to the RAM being mismanaged.
Both the S6 and S6 edge packs a decent 3GB of RAM, which is enough to keep things running smoothly. However, the problem is that due to poor memory management in the software, the phone is eating up too much memory and is using as much as 2.5GB being used for basic functions. This is leaving users with a tiny amount of RAM left. As a result of the flaw, apps are unexpectedly shutting down.
Samsung has acknowledged the issue and has ensured to roll out a fix for the issue soon.
“Micro-updates are in the process of being rolled out to correct issues relating to device performance and stability,” Samsung UK said in a post on its Facebook page.
“Keep checking for these on your device via Settings > About device > Software update > Update now.”
The post didn’t specify what exactly led to the memory flaw. It’s not clear when the update will be rolled out.
