Instagram on Monday updated its iOS and Android apps to add support for three new filters, as well as the ability to use emojis in hashtags.
The updated Instagram has got Lark, Reyes and Juno as the three new filters.
“Inspired by weekend adventures outdoors, Lark, Reyes and Juno are a family of modern, subtle filters that brighten and enhance your photos in refined, beautiful ways. Lark desaturates reds while punching up blues and greens to bring your landscapes to life. Reyes brings a dusty, vintage look to your moments. And finally, Juno tints
cool tones green while making warm tones pop and whites glow for vibrant photos of people,” Instagram noted in a blog post.
The update also enables users to add emojis to hashtags and search for photos by emoji.Using the feature users can now express their emotions and feelings in hashtags same as they did with adding emoji in captions or comments.
“Additionally, we’re bringing you a bonus update: you can also now use emoji in your hashtags. Over the past few years, emoji have become part of a universal visual language. And just as we share photos and videos, we use emoji to communicate emotions and feelings in ways that anyone can understand, regardless of language or background,” the blog post read.
Instagram notes that users will also be able to discover even more by adding them to their own photos and videos, searching them on the Explore page and even tapping on them to catch them in captions.
The updated Instagram for Android, 6.20.0, is currently available for free download on Google Play Store, while Instagram for iOS version 6.11.0 is available for download in Apple’s App Store.
