Mortal Kombat X has dethroned EA’s action gaming title ‘Battlefield Hardline’ to regain first spot in the U.K. gaming retail charts for the week ending April 18.
Mortal Kombat X debuted at number one with the PS4 version comprising 61 percent of retail sales, the Xbox One version accounting for 38 percent and the PC version for just 1 percent sales. The figure however doesn’t account for digital download sales.
The gaming title marked the biggest launch in the franchise’s history, and is second only to Battlefield Hardline in week one sales for the year so far.
Meanwhile, GTA 5 climbed to second position owing to a 94 percent week-on-week increase in sales following its launch on PC. Battlefield Hardline, which remained the best selling game for around a month, had to settle for third place this time around.
FIFA 15 dropped down to No.4 and Bloodborne was down 14 per cent at No.5, ahead of Far Cry 4, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Minecraft: Xbox, Minecraft PlayStation and Dying Light.
