Facebook is reportedly testing out a new name pronunciation feature which will ensure that your current and future friends pronounce your name the ‘correct’ way.
According to a report on Yahoo Tech, the new feature has been rolled out to only a limited number of U.S. users so far.
In order to check if this feature has been activated on your profile, you can log on to Facebook through your web browser and head to Profile > About. In the list of sub-menus, first click on ‘Details About You’ section and then click on “How do you say your name?” Here, you can preview and select from Facebook’s suggestion for the pronunciation. You can even play an audio clip of the name. However, if in case you are not happy with them, you can suggest your own.
“We’ve begun a small test of a feature that lets you indicate how your name is pronounced. The pronunciation will be displayed on your Profile along with an option for people to click to hear an audio playback. For now, we’re focusing this test on English speakers in the U.S.” said Facebook in a response to Yahoo.
It’s still unclear when the feature will come off its beta testing phase and roll out to other users.
