On-going rumors suggest Microsoft has four Lumia smartphones – two flagship and two midrange smartphones – in its pipeline.
The Redmond is developing two flagship smartphones — the Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940XL, states Nokia Power User (NPU). While the ‘Lumia 940’ is expected to sport a 5-inch display, its larger variant ‘Lumia 940XL’ will equip a 5.7-inch display. Both the smartphones are also expected to feature a 24-25MP camera, a 5MP front camera and a Windows 10 OS.
It is rumored that both the smartphones will have advanced features such as pen support, 3D-Interaction and Iris Scanner and are likely to be powered by a new crop of hexa-core and octa-core processors. These phones are expected to make an appearance in the third quarter.
Aside from the Lumia 940 series smartphones, Microsoft is also rumored to be working on two mid-range smartphones.
The first of the two dubbed “Lumia 840? is expected to be a 5-inch smartphone that’ll pack a 13- or 14-megapixel PureView camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is believed to sport a better processor than its predecessor ‘the Lumia 830’ and a similar or slightly modified design.
The Redmond’s other mid-range smartphone, Lumia 740 XL, is expected to feature either a 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch display screen and a camera similar to the one present in the Lumia 840, but without the PureView technology.
Microsoft is yet to confirm the report.
The 940 flagship better not be carrier exclusive in the US.
Please make the phone on no contract carriers like t-mobile. Please don’t let one carrier like att own all the contracts. If the carrier availability is limited as on the 930, then its good bye for me.
They should stick with computer operating systems.
