Popular video-sharing website YouTube has added support for 15 more navigation languages, bringing the total to 76, which covers the native tongues of 95 percent of internet users.
“YouTube creators and viewers speak nearly every language under the sun, and to make sure all of you can enjoy all of YouTube, so should we. That’s why we’ve just added 15 more languages that you can use to navigate YouTube. This brings YouTube to a total of 76 languages available, covering 95% of the Internet population”, YouTube noted in a Google+ post.
Albanian, Azerbaijani, Armenian, Georgian, Kazak, Khmer, Kirghiz, Lao, Macedonian, Mongolian, Myanmar, Nepali, Punjabi, Sinhala and Uzbek are among the new languages being added by YouTube.
It is to be noted that the 76 languages are for site navigation only and choosing any one of them translates the website’s links, buttons and text into a specific language. The videos already have caption support for over 165 languages.
The move is aimed at connecting YouTube with as many people as possible using their own language.
