Apple has rolled out iOS 8.3 which features over 300 new emoji characters, a redesigned keyboard, Wi-Fi calling feature and more.
The update revamps the emoji picker, adds new characters, more skin-tone options for any emoji that depict people as well as several new flags and updated phone, computer and watch emoji.
Other features introduced in iOS 8.3 include an update to the iCloud Photo Library, support for Google two-factor authentication, a wider space bar, Apple Pay support for the China UnionPay network, improved performance and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth fixes, orientation and rotation fixes, and others fixes in Messages, Family Sharing, CarPlay, Enterprise and Accessibility.
The new update also enables iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5s and 5c owners to use EE’s recently introduced WiFi Calling feature.
The update adds support for Siri in English (India, New Zealand), Danish (Denmark), Dutch (Netherlands), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian (Russia), Swedish (Sweden), Thai (Thailand) and Turkish (Turkey) languages.
Apple has also released the final version of OS X 10.10.3, the latest major update for OS X Yosemite, which includes a new Photos app that replaces iPhoto and Aperture, as well as a handful of other minor improvements.
The update is available as an over-the-air update or through iTunes for any device running iOS 8, including the iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, and 6 Plus; all iPads except the first-generation model; and the fifth-generation iPod Touch.
A full list of fixes can be viewed on Apple’s support page.
For me, I am hoping the issues with WiFi are fixed then rejoicing about having more emoji? Initial experience with update is that my WiFi seems better but it still hangs loading pages at times. But not sure if its just web site specific or with phone? I’ve grown use to Apple struggles to fix anything these days without several tries.
