Online retailer Amazon has launched a new hardware which allows Prime members to instantly order for home and kitchen products by just pushing a button.
The new hardware dubbed the ‘Dash Button’ remains connected with the Amazon app through Wi-Fi. It has an adhesive strip and can be easily hooked, hung or attached to appliances around the home. Initially products from only a few consumer brands such as Tide, Clorox and Huggies can be ordered by pushing the Dash button.
“When you’re running low, simply press Dash Button, and Amazon quickly delivers household favourites so you can skip the last-minute trip to the store,” explains the online retailer about the new service on its website.
“Use the Amazon app on your smartphone to easily connect to your home WiFi network and select the product you want to reorder with Dash Button,” the Web page reads.
“Once connected, a single press automatically places your order. Amazon sends an order alert to your phone, so it’s easy to cancel if you change your mind.”
The offer, which is limited to three Dash buttons per customer, is available only to select US Amazon Prime subscribers who receive an email from the company with an invitation to receive a free Dash Button.
Amazon also recently launched Amazon Home Services, which lets customers to order for professional services such as a computer technician or a handyman.
