Popular dating app Tinder, on Monday, announced a premium version of the service dubbed ‘Tinder Plus’.
Talking about the new features of Tinder Plus, there’s the new “Passport” feature which allows users to change their location to match with people around the world.
Another notable feature is the undo feature which lets users to take back their last swipe, so if someone accidentally swipes left on a picture rejecting a potential date he or she can find that person again later.
Furthermore, the paid version would also grant unlimited liking capability.
What’s interesting about the new paid service is that its subscription fees will vary depending upon the user’s age and country.
In the U.K., Tinder Plus will cost £14.99 ($23) for users aged 28 or over, while the same will cost just £3.99 ($6) for users ages 18 to 27.
In the U.S., users less than 30 years of age can subscribe for the new upgrade for $9.99 a month, while older users will have to pay $19.99 for the privilege.
Tinder said it has fixed the subscription prices after extensive testing in multiple countries.
“We’ve priced Tinder Plus based on a combination of factors, including what we’ve learned through our testing, and we’ve found that these price points were adopted very well by certain age demographics,” Tinder spokeswoman Rosette Pambakian said in a statement.
“Lots of products offer differentiated price tiers by age, like Spotify does for students, for example.
“Tinder is no different; during our testing we’ve learned, not surprisingly, that younger users are just as excited about Tinder Plus, but are more budget constrained, and need a lower price to pull the trigger.”
