British title Alien: Isolation, developed by Sussex-based video game developers The Creative Assembly, has bagged six nominations at this year’s Bafta Games Awards that include best game, British game, design, innovation, audio achievement and music categories. Kevin Spacey of Jonathan Irons fame in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has also bagged one Performer in 2015 nomination.
Bafta Games Awards cover a total of 17 categories with 51 games receiving nominations in one or more categories. After Alien: Isolation, Far Cry 4 and Monument Valley bagged five nominations each. 80 Days, Destiny, Mario Kart 8 And Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor bagged four nominations each.
Last year’s awards had 15 categories and this year two new categories have been added – original property and persistent game.
Some other Hollywood stars who’ve featured in games and have received nominations this time around include Melissa Hutchison for The Walking Dead: Season 2, Ashley Johnson for The Last of Us: Left Behind, Adam Harrington for The Wolf Among Us, Troy Baker for Far Cry 4 and Logan Cunningham for Transistor.
The Bafta video game awards will be held on March 12 in London, with the comedian and actor Rufus Hound hosting for the first time.
