Microsoft on Monday announced its mid-range Lumia 535 smartphone is now available for sale at electronics retailers across the UK.
Available in green, orange, white, dark grey, cyan and black color options, the Lumia 535 can now be purchased from Amazon, Tesco, O2, Carphone Warehouse, and Virgin with prices starting from £79. Microsoft has also promised to add “additional sales channels” in the weeks ahead.
To recap, The Lumia 535 features a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage with support for microSD card of up to 128GB, Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box and a 5-inch (960 x 540-pixel) display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The dual-sim phone boasts a Li-Ion 1905 mAh battery which promises up to 552 hours of standby time, up to 11 hours of talk time on 2G and up to 13 hours on 3G.
There’s a 5-megapixel rear camera (1/4 inch sensor, f/2.4 aperture and 28mm focal length) with auto-focus and LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera on board. It can shoot video at 848 x 480 pixel resolution. The handset measures 5.52 x 2.85 x 0.35 inches and weighs 5.15 ounces. It features a plastic back with rounded corners.
Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and A-GPS. The phone also offers 15GB free cloud storage on OneDrive along with other Microsoft apps and services including Skype, OneNote, Office Mobile and Xbox. Lumia 535 also packs Cortana, Word Flow, Action Center, and Live Folders among other things.
