Google’s next generation Nexus tablet dubbed ‘the HTC Nexus 9’ has finally made its debut in the UK, courtesy O2. UK carrier network O2 has announced HTC’s Nexus 9 tablet is now available for purchase in its stores.
The operator announced Brits can purchase the new Nexus tablet for as low as £29.99 with 3GB of data for a monthly fee of £32. Users will have the option to choose data plans ranging from between 500MB and 8GB as per their requirements. Those who wish to buy the SIM free Nexus 9 through O2’s ‘Pay & Go’ plan will have to pay a total of £459.99.
O2 is offering the Nexus 9 on its ‘Refresh’ tariff, which means that users will be able to upgrade before the end of their contract as long as they pay off the tablet’s remaining value.
Powered by an Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset clocked with a 2.3 GHz dual-core CPU, the HTC-made Nexus 9 features a 8.9-inch display boasting a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, 3GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage, a 6,700 mAh battery, an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.6 MP front snapper and a pair of front-facing speakers. The tablet will run Google’s latest mobile software iteration dubbed Android Lollipop.
Unfortunately, Nexus 9 does not support for a microSD card slot which means user won’t be able to add additional storage to the device.
The device comes with a two position keyboard folio case which attaches magnetically to the tablet to offer improved typing. The new Nexus 9 is also the first Android device to come equipped with a 64-bit hardware and software.
The tablet is currently available only in indigo black color option on O2.
