Samsung has surpassed rival Apple in terms of customer satisfaction, new report claims.
According to a recent survey conducted by the University of Michigan’s American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), South Korean tech titan earned a satisfaction rating of 81 points out of 100 as against Apple which scored 79 points.
This is for the very first time that Samsung has surpassed Apple to earn a higher customer satisfaction number. While Samsung scored five points more than it did in 2013, Apple was down by two points from last year.
Next on the list were Nokia and Motorola sharing the third spot with 77 points, while HTC followed for the fourth spot with 75 points. BlackBerry surprisingly was spotted ahead of LG on the list earning 74 and 73 points, respectively.
It is surprising to note that even with immense success of its latest iPhone iteration- iPhone 6 and 6 Plus- Apple lose the top spot to Samsung whose profits and mobile sales both took a dive in 2014 and the flagship Galaxy S5 did not sell as expected. Analysts link the Cupertino’s consumer satisfaction decline to a series of issues that iPhone users experienced since the launch including #bendgate, Crescentgate, iOS bugs and more.
With this unexpected survey result, it can be concluded that customer satisfaction has nothing to do with popularity.
That “recent” survey was completed in May, 2014.
With a margin of error of + or – 5 % – So Samsung could have a bit more or actually less. It is ridiculous to make such a big deal out of something like this when it’s obvious that both customer bases are very happy with the phones they are getting from the two companies.
LoL. Recent or not, the fact is that having satisfied Samsung/Android customers has a lot more meaning than satisfied iTards who simply don’t know any better (like zippinglou). Give iTards a cute box with an Apple logo with flashing LED lights, that does absolutely nothing useful, and they will be satisfied until the next version of the useless box is released.
