Much hyped October 15 passed by without any announcement from Google and now eyeballs are set on October 18 as a recent post on Google Plus signals towards a possible launch of Android 4.4 KitKat on that day.
A latest message on Android KitKat Google Plus page reads “Everybody dance now! #AndroidKITKAT” and those particularly observant and informed about music industry pointed out that there is a hidden clue indicating the launch date for the next version of Android.
Everybody dance now is a song by C+C Music Factory that was released on October 18, 1980 and the track is exactly 4 minutes and 4 seconds long.
We haven’t had any official announcement from Google as yet regarding launch dates of either Android 4.4 KitKat or Nexus 5 or the alleged Google Gem smartwatch and this is the only update from the search engine giant that officially informs us about KitKat.
However, we will take the speculated launch date with a grain of salt for now and if we do hear something we will be updating this post, so stay tuned.
