Ubisoft has delayed launch of two of its most anticipated titles – The Crew and WatchDogs – as these titles won’t make it till the second quarter of 2014 leaving console bundles buyers wondering whether they will be offered a new title or money back or an option to choose a new bundle completely.
According to Ubisoft Watch Dogs won’t make it till Spring 2014 whereas The Crew has been delayed without any specific timeline, but we peg it to a Spring 2014 launch alongside Watch Dogs.
With regards to Watch Dogs delay, Ubisoft explained that they have had an attitude of not compromising on quality and as they were getting closes to the release they released the need “to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail” in a bid to provide a “truly memorable and exceptional experience.”
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, while speaking about delay in launch of The Crew said that the company was taking tough decisions “to fully realize the major potential of” their new creations. Guillemot said, “our long term goal is to win the next generation.”
There are those who have bought PS4 bundles wherein Watch Dogs was included and to ensure that the customers are not left in the dark Ubisoft has revealed that its “partnership with Sony remains strong, and we will have more details to share about the specific benefits of this partnership for PlayStation customers at a later date.”
Amazon on the other hand has revealed that customers need not worry as they will be getting their gaming consoles based on the current delivery estimates without the bundled game. “We are adjusting the orders now and will update you once we know more”, notes Amazon on its Facebook page.
