Apple recently announced launch of its iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C smartphones in 50 new markets globally and the handsets will hit shelves in India on November 1 with a starting price tag of $862, $675 respectively.
For some reason, Apple has priced its handsets higher than what is offers them for in other countries. Apple’s 16GB iPhone 5S which is available in the US market at a price of around $ 700 (post taxes) has been priced at a whopping US $862 (Rs. 53,500). The 32GB version of iPhone 5S will be priced at $1,010 (Rs. 62,500) and the top-of-the-line 64GB version at $1,155 (Rs. 71,500).
Apple’s cheap iPhone 5C is not going to be cheap after all as the 16GB iPhone 5c will be available at $675 (Rs. 41,900) while the 32GB version is priced at $865 (Rs. 53,500).
Apple also announced that the official leather case for the iPhones will be available in blue, brown, beige, black, red and yellow colors for no less than $50 (Rs. 3,200) each.
Apple will also launch its new iPhones in Albania, Armenia, Guam, Guatemala, Colombia, El Salvador, Macedonia, Malaysia, Bahrain, Moldova, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Turkey and UAE on November 1.
The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c model smart phones are presently available in the US, Australia, France, Germany, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and the UK.
